Karen Burniston November Design Team Challenge - Gingerbread House Christmas Card

It's Karen Burniston's Design Team Challenge time again, and this month the theme is 'Gingerbread'!!
I've made a few gingerbread house cards over the years, because I love them, and I just couldn't resist this time either!
Karen has the most beautiful House & Fence Pop-up die set which I used for this card. 
I used craft card stock, sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink and 'iced' with White Opal Liquid Pearls, for most of the decorative elements.
The patterned paper is from First Edition's Christmas Wishes 12x12 pad.

I covered the floating floor with white glitter card, added borders to the top and bottom of the card, and used a die from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set, for the sentiment backing. The larger heart is also from this set. The 'Merry Christmas' is from the Word Set 3 - Holiday die set.

I also added bows to the fence, adapted from the Birthday Charms die set, and a little gingerbread man and trees from the Winter Charms die set. I hand cut a little bow tie for him.

To the top border, I also added some ribbon, Stampin' Up twine and Stampin' Up mini jingle bells.
I made a snowy hillside by cutting out by hand the slots to fit round the pop-up mechanisms, from some glitter card, and cutting the top stitched border with a die from the Nature Edges die set.

For the card front, I added another label from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set, and the larger gingerbread man form the Winter Charms die set.

I had such a good time creating this little scene!

Reclaimed Wood Kitchen Shelving - Reveal

Patience.  Not a word I would use to describe myself when it comes to projects.   My husband would agree.  :) Remember this wood I showed you last week ?   Imagine my surprise when I cut into it and realized it was pure gorgeous walnut. Well, my hubby and middle son went out of town this past weekend for a sports event and I decided I was going to get to work on the project I had in mind while they were away  so I could surprise him when they returned.  The walnut discovery had me so excited, I just couldn't wait to get started. Silly me thought it would be something I could easily tackle myself. Wrong. While I show you pictures of the finished project, you should know that getting to that point was somewhat of a nightmare. Pop It Ups 'Cocoa the Horse' Unicorn Birthday Card, from Karen Burniston's Farm 2 Collection

Hello! I'm back with a card made with a die I love from Karen Burniston's new Farm 2 Collection from Elizabeth Craft Designs - 'Cocoa the Horse'.  I animated Cocoa on the Lorna Label PopUp card, and added a cut-by-hand unicorn horn and shadow, to make a very sparkly pink unicorn card! I hand cut clouds to add to the front platform of the Lorna Label, and added stars cut from a Tim Hotlz die onto strips of clear acetate. The rainbow and individual clouds are from a Sizzix die set. I used a Sizzix On the Edge die for the scalloped edge, and a Birthday die from Marianne Designs. The papers are from My Mind's Eye. Just to show you some of the layers a bit better... I had so much fun designing this card! The Cocoa the Horse die just gave me so many ideas! Here are three cards I made in my 'Cocoa the Horse & Lorna Label' set!
